Full slab of Sahara Lumen

Onyx

Sahara Lumen

A warm amber onyx that transmits light as banded, layered depth.

The material

Onyx is the only material in the collection that changes completely depending on where the light is. Lit from the front, Sahara Lumen is a warm banded stone with honey and cream layers. Lit from behind, the bands become depth and the surface disappears. That is the whole point of the material, and it is why the backing detail matters more than the slab: the lighting cavity, the diffusion layer and the fixing method determine whether it reads as luminous stone or as a lightbox. Specify it at 20 mm for transmission, and expect to prototype the assembly.

Variations

Natural stone varies. Variation grades describe the expected range of veining and background, not a defect.

V3 — Substantial variationSubstantial variation. Banding direction and translucency vary between slabs; layout is a design decision, not a supply one.
