The material
Black Wave Algeria carries the boldest figure in the collection: wide white bands that sweep across the black ground in long curves rather than fine branches. It is not a material to spread across a floor plate, where the movement becomes noise; it is a material for a single, deliberate surface — a reception wall, a bar front, a bathroom read as one piece. Bookmatched from a single block, the waves mirror into a symmetrical figure that is, in practice, the most photographed surface in a building.
